My first solo exhibition was at a dear friend’s house outside Washington, D.C. Ray Marvin has encouraged my husband and me in every one of our endeavors, be they law (Maynard), Chestnut Cove, Inc.(salad dressing business--me), novel writing (Maynard), or painting(me). Because of his kindness, generosity and gift of persuasion, I think it’s appropriate to include this invitation to my first one-woman show.

It features over 2 dozen big, bright, beautiful canvases - oils and beeswax encaustics - that lead the viewer on an imaginative journey through the cycle of the year.

The earliest supporters to exhibit my work were my son, Alexander Thomson, and Daughter, Hannah Thomson Boyd. They were the first to display my paintings and  encourage me to make more.  My mother, Shirley Shapero, has become a “believer” and now hangs my work at the Hunt Community in Nashua, NH.

Without my husband, Maynard, there would be no website. I would never have gone to San Miguel and would probably not have my art work prominently displayed all over our house. Thanks everyone!
